Liked: Lovely setting and so very peaceful, we enjoyed getting away from it all, and being set away from the main site, although only 10 minutes to get to the hub from Woodland Escape, for charging phones, having a shower etc. The tent is very well equipped and comfortable, plenty of bedding and blankets and hot water bottles, which we needed even though it was August! Gorgeous walk to Denholm, which has nice friendly pub, the Cross Keys, and a playground if you have young kids. The loo was easy to use and no unpleasant smells! Younger kids would LOVE this place as freedom to roam without cars, and the chance to explore on their own, so rare these days. Highly recommend this place and we will definitely come back. Staff very helpful and accommodating, facilities clean and nice to use. Ap on the phone, sent in advance, with all the information needed, was a huge bonus, very well thought out.

Disliked: It was too windy for an open fire on the first night, and quite windy the second night too. I'm not sure if we were unlucky or if it is a prevailing wind on Woodland Escape, it seemed to funnel over the hill directly to where the fire pit is. It would be much better moved to in front of the safari tent, so the tent acted as a windbreak, although it would of course have to be set well back.
We forgot to bring salt and pepper and oil - that would have been nice to have had in the tent kitchen, as we couldn't do the popcorn which was provided.

Stayed here for a week as a couple, fairly large tent. Chose it as had firepit option, and camping without a fire is…less. Long enough to see comings & goings, and appreciate the craft of running it to such a high standard.||Online booking, inc choose a pitch. Options for cabins etc if you dont like a tent. Cars kept away from camping areas (but big trolleys available to transport all your stuff, makes it v easy.||Pitches separated, often by hedges big or wee, Victorian walled garden vibe. Central “hub” has great toilets, showers, kitchen (fridge, freezer, kettles, microwave, sinks) and a big covered area with tables and a fireplace, so no stir-crazy kids if weather is rotten. Outdoor games available. Wee shop sells sweets, logs, gas cans, etc. Jedburgh and Hawick nearby for shops, cafes, etc.||Lots of explory areas and walks, esp good for kids. There were quite a lot of families here, but everyone was v g with the “quiet from 10pm” rule…dead quiet!! ||Staff lovely, v helpful, and a great place either as a base to explore, or just to decompress and be lazy, mess around with camp stoves, play board games. Jedburgh is very pretty & historical; Hawick a bit bigger, once a very prosperous weaving town but now finding things harder (does have a lovely wee museum to local motorcycle racer Jimmie Guthrie). Rubers Law (full of blueberries in mid-August!), Minto Castle (aka Fatlips Castle) provide walks locally.||We’ll be back.

What a magical place. With several zones of camping included a majestic walled garden and more remote woodland camping, Ruberslaw has a style of camping for all. The facilities at the hub are excellent, big open fire, covered tables, phone charging, full kitchen as well as clean and well equipped toilets and shower. The walled garden pitches are on the expensive side for camping but as we stayed for 2 weeks we wanted good facilities to make it a little more comfortable. What is really lovely is that although it is well equipped it manages to avoid feeling like a big commercial campsite. It is the most beautiful setting and a huge safe space for kids to explore but with a few facilities to make it a bit more homely.

Liked: Facilities were well looked after and kept clean. The staff were incredible, when we booked the wildwood camping, it mentions a 15 minute walk, but didn't realise how far haha, but the staff allowed us to book kit assist right in the middle of our stay to help us carry rest up and bring us back down.

Beautiful estate, very quiet.

Best of both worlds with the wild camping and the main pitches.

We loved it so much, we have already booked again later this year!

Disliked: The walking haha our fault. There was nothing we disliked about the site. Found no fault.

Lovely couple of days staying in safari tents. Very comfortable and have everything you need. Logs for the fire were amongst the things delivered daily. The vast grounds are beautifully kept and the woodland is just lush. Would definitely love to come back.

Liked: Beautiful campsite (we stayed in Walled Garden). The proprietors had thought of everything to make camping in Scotland easy.

On arrival we were met and given a tour of the facilities, including the hub, which is a communal area where we could cook and eat our meals. Fridges, freezer, microwave, kettles and a cooker are all provided, should you need them.

The toilets and showers were very clean, and well maintained. The garden itself is beautiful and well looked after.

Disliked: The ‘small’ pitch we had was spacious, but it did get very muddy (which seemed unusual compared to all the others)

Liked: Lovely place. Calm and refreshing. Shower block was good and clean, with decent water pressure.

Disliked: Was situated in a pitch on slope so after heavy rain very boggy when we left but not much could be done about it by site.
