Wonderful stay at Camp Katur as part of a summer outdoor wedding. The geodomes are so cool - 2 double beds, lovely hot shower and useable kitchen area, lounge chairs overlooking a meadow. Hot tub was a great temp and we loved the firepit to sit around while we had a BBQ. There are great outdoor play areas for the kids to enjoy too. Cannot recommend this accommodation and their kind staff enough. Not to mention that when we left an item behind they went out of their way to return it to us. Thank you!

As I said in my previous review we will be back and we did go back. |3 nights in one of the Geodomes (same one we booked before) and our experience was just as good the second time round. Again the dome was spotless, has everything you need and is a great place to have a chilled break. This time we had a puppy with us, so the ground were perfect for walking and exploring. There is nothing we would change about Camp Katur, so relaxing and a great place to escape. I am most certain we will return again next year.

Title: Fantastic Stay at Camp Katur - Highly Recommend!

We had originally booked our stay at Camp Katur for August, but due to a family bereavement, we were unable to go. The support we received from Camp Katur during that difficult time was second to none—they generously offered us the opportunity to change our booking to the October half-term, which meant we didn’t have to miss out. We were so grateful for this thoughtful and accommodating gesture.

We’ve just returned from our stay, where we stayed in Equillis on the Hall Hill Farm estate, and it was fantastic! The dorm was cozy, the fire added a great touch, and the facilities were excellent. There is a fully equipped kitchen—and when I say fully equipped, I mean it! We needed to bring absolutely nothing. There was a large fridge and freezer for shared use, plus a personal mini-fridge which fit all our essentials perfectly.

The surrounding area was peaceful and perfect for our dog, who loved exploring the beautiful walking trails. We had access to a convenient storeroom that operates on an honor system, trusting guests to take what they need and pay later—such a nice touch that made things even easier.

The hot tub was a nice addition, although it took a bit of time to heat up and seemed to get a bit cloudy after our first use, so we decided not to go back in after that. Nonetheless, the beautiful scenery and quiet atmosphere more than made up for it, and we were especially lucky with the weather for the end of October.

One unexpected delight was meeting the resident pigs out back, whom we affectionately named Henry and Henrietta (though we’re not entirely sure about Henrietta’s gender!). Feeding them a couple of carrots each day became a fun little routine.

For supplies, there are shops not too far away, though it’s a bit of a trek if you forget essentials. We made a few stops at Aldi and Co-op during our days out, which worked out fine. The area offers lots to explore; we visited Hackfeld Wood, a local reservoir, and even hiked to a nearby plane crash site. The scenery was beautiful and peaceful, a perfect getaway!

The only minor downside was the ladybirds—they were everywhere in our tent, likely coming from the nearby trees. We were constantly picking them up off the bed and floor, but thankfully they didn’t bother us too much.

All in all, our experience at Camp Katur was lovely, and we’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and unique getaway. Great place for families, friends, and dogs alike!

We were a bit dubious after booking here and then reading the reviews. This was a little babymoon/familymoon for me, my husband and 3 year old before the arrival of baby number 2 next month. However, we went and had a wonderful time! ||We stayed in one of the geodomes with a wood fired hot tub. Check in was super easy. We got there for check in which was 3pm. The Geodomes was clean and tidy. The skylight was a bit dirty, kinda like the top of a conservatory. The front window was clean, but I had brought cleaning spray incase we needed it based of the reviews (obviously could not clean the skylight because it's too tall!) The skies turned out the cloudy at night anyways so no chance of seeing any stars. Beds were relatively comfortable, and it was just nice waking in the morning to the most beautiful view of the fields! |The instructions to light the hot tub were not particularly clear, and we failed quite a lot that first evening. We didn't get it heated up. We had planned to go out for tea on the Saturday, but decided to cancel it and have a BBQ, so we could spend the morning exploring the grounds and then the afternoon watching the fire to get the hot tub hot! This worked out much better. We found a video on YouTube to follow- you need to tend to the fire and check every 15 minutes or so and it takes about 3 hours to get to temperature. By changing our plans to allow to do this, we had a much more relaxing family day of puzzles and nibbles and no rush to get out so it all worked out. The hot tub was one of the things that swayed us to camp katur so we really wanted to get it working! So glad that we did, it made out trip even more special.||There was a fire pit which my daughter loved, we roasted marshmallows and made smores!||She loved running around out the front of the tent, and there were some pigs that occasionally came to the back of the tents which was nice to see. The adventure playground, swing park, obstacle course and plane crash were all really good to go around!||On the first night we got some pizza DIY kits and we used the pizza oven, so that was really good too! Not sure what the guy was called who showed us how to use it but he was very friendly and helpful. ||There was a wedding going on at the time, but we didn't see any of the wedding party and we just heard like..in the distance music playing till about 11pm . This wasn't an issue though and did not keep us awake, and it was quite nice for us to be in the hot tub and try to guess what songs they were dancing too!||I wanted a wholesome family little trip away before this baby arrived, and it's what I got so I'm very pleased! It is expensive, and there are things that could be improved but fundamentally we had a really lovely time! ||(The communal kitchens are nice and clean and well equipped. Could not find any BBQ utensils though. We did not see any mould.)

We attended a friends wedding on probably the wettest coldest July wknd! |I had read the reviews about the hot tubs having to be heated up etc!!!!|It was my first time under canvas and I have to say the Cosmos geodome didn’t disappoint. Luckily we shared with close friends whom we have holidayed with before so the lack of privacy wasn’t a problem. The geodome was very well equipped, clean and quite cosy, we all agreed the beds were extremely comfortable. |In the cold July drizzle we tried the hot tub that had been bubbling away all wknd it was a perfect end to the day, it was spotlessly clean and the perfect temperature.

We had a 2 night stay in Lyra. The lodge is very well equipped, quiet and comfortable. We stayed in Lyra with our grandsons aged 8 and 10 who loved being visited by a squirrel, seeing a fox and a deer in the distance and watching a very friendly wren!
The outdoor hot tub, barbecue and fire pit were great and the adventure playground, trim trail and woodland trails all added to a wonderful break

We had high expectations for Camp Katur given the cost to stay there for 2 nights. Whilst we enjoyed being able to spend time together as a family, unfortunately our stay was not quite as we had hoped. Our geodome was okay. It smelt quite damp and foisty, which perhaps we should have expected from camping. The 'stargazing' ceiling was too dirty to see any stars unfortunately. The noise from the wedding on the Saturday night was disappointing and went on well into the night despite comments from the Camp Katur that it finishes at 10pm. Overall, we made the most of our time there and enjoyed the grounds. However, for the price, standards in some areas and noise level on a night when we were expecting a peaceful setting, we unfortunately would not return.
