I'm not big on campgrounds in general. I prefer the seclusion of solo backpacking, but we decided to do a family camping trip for my birthday. Our site (288) was well separated from our neighbors, and backed up to the Scuppernong hiking trails adjacent to the campground. Our site was huge! It could easily accommodate 4 or 5 large tents, and had trees well spaced enough for 3 or 4 hammocks as well. Pit toilets across the street were clean and well stocked...
The only negative to our trip was that the camp host's wood / ice could no longer be paid for with cash. He had a QR code linked to a payment site, but there was no cell signal at the camp host location. I had to drive out to the park entrance to get signal, pay, then return to show the receipt in order to get my bundles of wood... at a cost of $8 for 6 or 7 pieces of wood. I'd suggest buying from one of the local residences instead.

We had a wonderful time at this campground. It was clean and quiet with easy access to pit toilets. Each campsite is secluded from its neighbors by a thick wall of trees and bushes. All campsites had a fire pit with grill option and a picnic table. We saw and heard many woodpeckers, songbirds, and chipmunks. Will definitely visit again.

We stayed in Loop 2, a short drive to the playground, showers, and flush toilets. A slightly longer drive (back out on the roads) takes you to the lake with a beach, more playgrounds, and hiking trails.

The only thing I wish there were more of were signs and maps, but maps can be downloaded online easily.

We camped there in October, and there was already no water available. Everything was winterized with no prior announcement. You have to pay for the entry pass at the site, in addition to the campsite fee, and there is an extra fee for non-Wisconsin residents. Overall, we paid $52 for a non-electric tent site with no water or other amenities.

Very nice campground. Awesome to have such a woodsy option so close to Milwaukee! This will be our quick get away when we don’t have time to go up north!

This is one of my favorite campgrounds in Southeast Wisconsin. It feels like you're in Northern Wisconsin without the long drive. The bathrooms and showers are always clean and up to date. There are lots of hiking trails in the area, and Ottawa Lake isn't too far away with a beach to swim in. I highly recommend camping here.

We had the best time at this campground! We reserved site #165 and had more privacy than we expected. We brought our dog with us and there were plenty of hiking trails nearby to enjoy. We would definitely come back here!

If your looking for heavy woods and mud around the fire ring and a small area where your going to camp then this is the spot for you. Not many trails. Very low trees for pulling a camper at 12’ Scraped up the top of are camper roof on loop two on the main road. Volunteer host was very nice and helpful. Dump site is very tight for a 29’ camper.

Great campground, nice variety of sites, some are very secluded some are nice and open some for RV's. Bathrooms are nice and clean showers nice and warm.
