Dixon Lake Campground offers a clean and convenient camping experience. Its proximity to the city ensures that any forgotten items can easily be purchased nearby, making it an ideal spot for both seasoned campers and novices alike.

For those seeking a stunning night view, I highly recommend reserving a site with a clear view of the horizon. However, be aware that the sites are not particularly spacious. If you're planning to set up more than one tent, it’s essential to check the site dimensions beforehand. Among the various spots, Site #17 stands out as relatively larger, offering a bit more room to spread out.

One of the highlights of our stay was the boating experience. To secure a boat, make sure to arrive early in the morning. By 10 AM, the boats are often sold out, so plan accordingly to enjoy a serene day on the lake.

Despite its urban proximity, Dixon Lake Campground is teeming with wildlife. We encountered rattlesnakes several times during our stay. If you spot a rattlesnake, it is important to report it to a ranger immediately.

Overall, Dixon Lake Campground provides a delightful blend of natural beauty and urban convenience. Whether you're there for a quick getaway or an extended retreat, this campground promises a memorable outdoor adventure.

We RV camped at Dixon Lake in September of 2024. Our campsite was clean and quiet, which was nice. The restrooms were disgusting and probably have never been cleaned. On Saturday morning, we discovered the restrooms were locked and stayed that way all weekend. I felt sorry for all the tent campers with little kids running around. We're not going to return. Very disappointed.

Nice to camp there. Offers lots of amenities. Like a lake where you can fish, take boat rides, drive a peddle boat at a low cost, and even feed the ducks. You can take a hike on the rocky terrain following a trail. There is a huge playground to keep the young entertained. I recommend Dixon lake campgrounds.

The campsites are not raked or swept. The campsites are very dusty, not fun when you have people hanging out, dancing in the moonlight, and trying to go without sandals.
A lot of trash and litter as far as the eye can see.
The campsites are more private than other campgrounds i have been to.
Some in my party didn't enjoy hearing other campsites as the night went on but you don't see each other. They did a cool design for most sites to get a cool view of the valley or the lake. Should I suggest a higher fee for a freshly cleaning picnic table and swept out campsites?

The site we had was on decline and was tricky setting up the trailer. Park had swarm of hornets that are attracted to anything that be eaten. Hornets here are very aggressive and you will not be able to eat at the park without being swarmed by them. Decent campgrounds. Also our trailer had a bunch of ants come in as we were on a giant ant hill.

Loved the clean trails and toilets. Could do with some trail sign markers. We were winging at the North end, taking the trail over the hill. Saw footprints, so I guessed it was OK. Loved the scenery, flowers, quail, and views.
