Liked: Our adventure began with a friendly host picking us up to transport us across the river ford. Our pitch was perfect for our set up: 3, 2 and 1 person tents with small tarp shelter. Located above the riverbank with great views and safe access to the river. The section of river allowed safe paddling and exploring. Each pitch has a well set up firepit area. The composite toliets were very clean and easily accessible there is even an imaculate hot shower. Great little (unmanned) shop on site for firewood etc and the nice touch was the marshmallow kits also for sale. Felt like wildcamping with the bonus of the facilities and safe environment for families of all ages. Our teenagers really enjoyed the two night stay. Will be definitely returning. There is also a bothy available.

Disliked: Worth noting that if you do not bring a 4x4 on site, you should consider to bring all the supplies you require with you. We did make it across the river in sliders and bare feet though.

Liked: We just returned from our stay at Dall Cottage, and would highly recommend it!
It gives the feel of wild camping, but you get to have a hot shower and compost toilet, which is ideal.
All the pichups are by the river, and each has their own bonfire.

To get there you need to cross a shallow river, but the owners will come with their 4x4 to take you across. It is walkable, but you'll need wellies and to take it slowly as its a bit slippy. We manages just fine.

There is also a little honesty shop where you can buy wood and kindling, mosquito repellants, soft drinks and marshmallow toasting kits.

The owner were absolutly lovely, and we'll look forward to staying there again in the future!

Liked: Just off the A9 so great for day trips / hiking days but feels v remote as you have to cross a river in wellies to get on site (or in a 4x4). Feels like wild camping with the benefit of a compost toilet and gas shower!
Our plot had trees for a hammock and a small area by the river for fishing.
Love the fire pits & shop with drinking water & wood.
Easy communication with hosts for lifts across the river for taking all our camping stuff over at the beginning and end of the trip!
Would 100% recommend for a semi- wild camp trip!

Liked: I booked this campsite for the horse trials with my dad and sister. Campsite is very well run with the owners being super friendly and helpful. The pitches are decently sized, we were able to pitch up two tents and park the car at the pitch. The fire pits and seating area are a really nice touch, you are also able to buy logs and starter kits from the honesty shop. The honesty shop is well stocked with bottles of water, cans of juice, a small selection of snacks, and things like midgy spray. You can also buy a marshmallow kit for roasting on the fire. The shop also has blankets, grills, and a ground anchor for tying dogs to that you can borrow. Don’t be put off by the compost toilet, I didn’t like the idea of it at first but it is very clean and doesn’t smell, there are clear instructions inside the toilet to follow. The outdoor shower is also really good, again with clear instructions inside. There is a train line near by and a busy road, however, with the noise from the river, you very quickly stop noticing the sounds and it wasn’t an issue to sleep through. Unfortunately for us it was rainy for most of the stay, however, the pitch held up really well with no flooding. Overall a really good site, and this is coming from someone who isn’t the fondest of camping in general!

Disliked: Not a dislike, just a note not to get missed in the paragraph above. There is no drinking water, however, we knew this and brought three water containers with us. For reference, for us the two 10L containers were enough for all three adults and two dogs over our four night stay. There is bottled water available to buy in the honesty shop for good prices, it was 25p for the normal sized bottled water and £1 for the large

Liked: Beautiful spot right by the river. A lovely compromise between wild camping and a campsite, just the ideal level of amenities and retaining a wild feel. Pitch and amenities were scrupulously clean and really well maintained. Really friendly folk. The kids (and I) loved getting a run across the burn in a very cool 4x4. Some folk have mentioned noise from the road and the railway but the sound of the burn more than covers it, didn't bother us. Nice big gaps between pitches maintains a wild feel. Well provisioned wee honesty shop with logs, sweeties and useful items.

Liked: We enjoyed an amazing 4 night stay here whilst visiting Blair Horse trials, it was mine & my daughters first ever time camping and we couldn't have chosen a better place, the site is immaculate Tabitha & her family are so welcoming everything has been so well thought out, lovely hot shower & clean facilities, a great little shop to buy logs for the fire pit & other little treats. The location is stunning we could not have asked for anything more.

Disliked: Coming home!!

Liked: As 4x4 owners, this site is almost a dream find. The access road is mostly gravel until you reach the river crossing. This is where normal cars will have to be left and a taxi ride sought from the site owners (more than willing to accommodate)
If you have a vehicle capable of the river crossing, you traverse the river and are welcomed by incredibly friendly owners and a site so perfectly located you'd be hard pressed to make it better.
Loo's, shower and a small honesty shop pretty much cover the facilities. Please remember this is an almost "wild" campsite, so the loo's and shower whilst absolutely functional and clean, are not "hotel" like.
Each pitch has its own firepit (logs available from the honesty shop) At the time of our visit the cost was £15 for two baskets of logs, kindling and firelighting equipment which was plenty for us for the night.
We were all sad to leave and all stated we would return again soon

Disliked: Nothing

Liked: Really enjoyed our stay at Dall cottage. Had to cross a ford to access the campsite, our car wouldn’t get across but no bother as there is a truck that can be arranged to take you across.
Definitely has everything you need, a little shop with drinks, wood and blankets. Toilet and shower were both good, kept very clean.
Had a real remote feel to the campsite, not many other campers and spaced out enough to not feel crowded. Each pitch has a ready set up fire pit area which is a really nice touch.
The campsite is close to Pitlochry for shops and day out, plenty of walks to be had in the area.
Overall had a great stay, enjoyed the walk across the river to access the site. Friendly and helpful owners.
