The location of this campsite sells it to us and the heated facilities, that are needed outside of summer. Even if you don't have a pitch with a view over Derwentwater, the site is still good. Many of the pitches are level and are well spaced out. Once you've visited you will decide on your favourite spot. The cafe was only open 12.00-16.00 when we were there, so we were out walking and never got to visit. Great walking from here without moving the van.

Lovely site, would highly recommend. Lovely views, excellent clean facilities. Lovely shop and campers lounge with games and magazines. Friendly staff, you were so lovely with our son who kept coming to reception on his bike to visit Midnight.|We climbed Barf which you can see from the campsite and had a day mooching around Keswick. Wish we could have stayed longer. So peaceful. Just perfect. We will definitely be back.

This was the 3rd stay in the Bassenthwaite Hex Pod, and as always, it was stunning. The standard of the pod is simply stunning, as were the views of the fells. We were also lucky enough to see the northern lights whilst we were there. It seemed strange that September was our first visit of the year, as normally by this time of the year, we would normally have visited 2-3 times in Tilly the T5. Asalways the site is immaculate and the is outstanding as always

Our second stay at Castlerigg Hall and we'll definitely be back. The view across Derwent Water is beautiful and the site is lovely to walk around. 2 nice dog walk areas at either end of the site. The facilities are amazing, with an on-site shop selling food, drinks and gifts. There is a little cafe at the gallery and also a campers kitchen which has free WiFi. We had pulled pork from one of the takeaway vans which visit most evenings and it was so yummy and very generous portions. There are 3 toilet blocks and we were given a key to the accessible toilet as my Mum was recovering from an injury and this made her stay much more manageable. The staff are all friendly and helpful. There are 2 walks into Keswick which can be made into a circular walk. The staff at reception were happy to advise on local walks. ||A fabulous campsite!

Our first stay here and it did not disappoint. A great view and a spacious, fully serviced pitch (38). Showers and toilets were very clean, the shop had everything you would need in an emergency and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Good phone and TV signal, WiFi available in the main camp kitchen area, which was good enough to download episodes onto a tablet. Highly recommended, the best site in the Lakes that we have stayed in.

My sister and I stayed here for 4 nights, and to sum up in one word, perfect! ||Immediately we felt it was going to be a lovely stay, we were helped down to our pitch and given lots of helpful information for the local area and walks we wanted to do. They were very helpful offering to help with anything we needed. ||we camped and it was ideal, near the toilets and showers ( which were kept very clean !) but also with the most amazing view! And not too far from the great farm shop and cafe! |On a couple of night they also had food vans that you could order from! ||It was a perfect location, not too far from the centre of Keswick and also close enough to all other amazing lakes and fells to visit! ||We climbed catbells on one day which was great as you can see this from the campsite! ||We will definitely be returning next year and be recommending to the rest of our family!|Would highly recommend this campsite if you are wanting to visit the lakes and explore while also being close enough to a town that has stuff going on! |We also got signal /4G which was a bonus, so we could research our plans for the next day!

We have just returned home from spending 4 nights in our Motorhome on this fantastic site.From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a friendy smile and were given all the information we needed about the site. One of the staff members took us to our pitch and explained exactly where everything was situated and also gave us loads of information about some of the walks within the area. |The facilities around the site were of very high standard, and toilet / showers were probably the best we have ever visited.| On site was also a very cosy indoor area where we spent one night playing scrabble and having a few nic nics / drinks plus between 12 and 4 it has a lovely little coffee shop and again we were made to feel very welcome and had a lovely conversation with the lady working in there.|We will definitely be returning to this site in the near future and can not praise the cleanliness of the full site, which is a credit to the owners and all the workers on the site|

Lovely very high quality campsite, nicely landscaped, good shop with plenty of stock, and the 'toilet block' was great! Heated floors made all the difference in cool autumn, spotlessly clean, as nice as camping can be
