Not very impressed with this camp for the price. All in all it seemed more like a glorified daycare situation than anything else.

My child came home with dirty cuts on his fingers, and while covered with a bandaid, they had not allowed him to wash his hands so it scabbed over with dirt and who knows what else in the cuts. Additionally it seems kids are not allowed to use the restroom without being accompanied by a camp counselor which resulted in my child being told he could not use the restroom when he needed to.

I'm glad we gave it a chance, but knowing what I know now I would not recommend it. There are many many other camp options that are much more affordable and your children will actually walk away having learned something useful, or at the very least not been bored.

I will say, the staff and camp counselors were enthusiastic and kind, and were responsive when I asked them to honor the first year buddy request for one of my kids. I think it has the potential to be a great experience, but unfortunately we were left disappointed this year.

Would for sure not recommend. Half of the things they advertise they will be doing, they don’t do. My son said the food was cheap and reheated junk. The activities he was excited about would get cancelled. There was a lot of down time or activities that might have been better for younger kids. Maybe if you’ve never experienced another camp before this camp would be decent. Maybe it used to be great back in the day. I can definitely say it is not now. The other camp that we usually go to, costs $300 less and my son said it was at least $1000 better. Unfortunately, I doubt we can get any money back from this place. I don’t see why it cost so much if they aren’t putting the money into the camp. That money is definitely going to someone! Anyways, I don’t recommend this place at all.
On a positive note. My son came back safe. He said he met some cool kids and made some friends. He said he liked something called carpet ball, and he enjoyed the archery. That’s why I gave the rating a two instead of a one

They don’t care about your safety or communicating dangerous things with a child’s parents. They are non responsive and mean. They tried to make us sign a NDA. It took them 2 months two apologize like it was fake. They don’t meet deadlines or do promised resolutions. They director is inexperienced. And was open about her relationship with a counselor. They let you be in danger and say it was a choice when you change activities to stay safe. I was 11 at this camp and was put in an incredibly dangerous situation with older boys. I am okay, but that was just lucky and not because they manage safety at all well. This used to be a good camp. Now it’s not even safe and I’m not only kid.

I have 3 grandkids who have gone to camp dakani each summer for the past 4 or 5 year . The oldest just completed the CAT training this year and is looking forward to being an aide next year. The week that I get to spend with them on this is rewarding for all of.us. This camp is definitely one of the best experiences

Not the same Camp Dakani that it was. No more rope tying, outdoor skills, etc like it used to be.

Good place for large groups like a church or social organization. We used their kitchen and outdoor grill to feed 100 people.
