I made a reservation and paid for a campsite in advance for a girls camping trip. We drove over 15 hours in rain to get to this KOA to be safe and relax for the night. There were accidents on the road that took us longer to arrive during office hours. I called and checked in partially over the phone and explained our situation. We got there after the office closed and ringed the bell to meet with the camp hosts. They were nice at first. Finally after a long day we were set up and trying to start a fire with the wet firewood they sold us for $9.00 a bundle. Then they asked us if we had a tent. I said no, we are SUV camping. People can van camp though? They strictly said there is no car camping. I said can you tell me why? They had no answer. I said we are 2 girls traveling alone and it makes us feel safer to sleep in an suv. Then the camp hosts said you can go buy and tent, set it up and sleep in your car. After many long hours we are forced to go to a Walmart to buy a $70 tent to set up in the dark and rain and pretend to sleep in it We got back and the gates were closed. We couldn't even get a refund. How can discretion not be used in a situation like this. We are not squatters, but people who made reservations in advance that paid and tried to do the right thing. Shame on you. The rest of our trip was at state parks where we were welcomed and felt much safer. I will never stay at a KOA again or reccomend it to someone else.

This is an outstanding campground. The people who work there are amazing. Thanks especially to Steve who was always so helpful. Spaces are large. Beautiful views. Close the everything. The place is spotless. Great laundry facility. Stayed for over 2 weeks and loved every minute.

Very quiet and new looking campground. It has all of the amenities you could want and is easy to get to. Friendly staff. No view, but a good stepping off point for local wineries and attractions.

At the KOA Blue Ridge Toccoa River, the Owners clearly prioritize confirmation emails over customer service, so you’ll readily find “More Rules Than Amenities” might be a fitting slogan. Not an exceptionally pleasant check-in and the park is basic; aside from the river, there is not nature to appreciate here at all. Prepare to get nickeled and dimed, a lot of basic support items have a fee attached - basically the Ryan Air of campgrounds. We rented a cabin, not a site, so our expectations may be different than yours, but I would certainly recommend you pay attention to the patterns of the bad reviews as they’re fairly accurate. The cabins have a full kitchen which is great, though there is almost no interior prep space so prepare to make use of every flat object in the place. Utensils, plates? Not really - the cabin offers some cookware but the rest is just plastic silverware and some paper plates and cups. If you’re using the bathroom with the lights on, the neighbors can see your silhouette so just be discreet I guess. Wifi is worthless so bring a hotspot and prepare to burn data. You’re better off renting an RV and boondocking on the side of the highway, because, besides the gate, that’s all this place really offers to begin with.

TL:DR: Don’t worry about anything, the Owners have Staff whipped into shape and well-scripted to remind you of the the rules if you might have missed the emails, but the bathrooms are nice.

Great campground. Lots of amenities and lots to do in the area! Facilities are very well maintained including the bathrooms, showers, laundry and pool area. We were with a group of rvers and the staff were very helpful. We were able to use the pavilion by the pool for 2 evenings of food and games! Our site was a pull thru concrete pad with full hook ups. Everything worked very well! This area in North Georgia is so beautiful! Lots of outdoor things to do with plenty of shopping and restaurants to enjoy.

Very disappointed when four of us had to cancel our reservation; two coming from Dawsonville ga and two coming from mid Tennessee because of the hurricane barreling in. This place is on the river and expecting 8 inches of rain along with high winds. Schools canceled, people being told to stay home.
We were within two hours of the guideline time to cancel and they would not return our deposit. I offered to let them pick future dates when it was slower for them for us to reschedule, telling them that they would get three nights payment instead of just the deposit. Nope, wouldn't consider it. It's not about the money, I'm actually saving money because now I don't have to pay a Dogsitter. But it's about customer service and greed. They just lost four future customers and our membership with Koa. Be aware.
Let me add to your nasty response, that a prediction of 7 days out does not tell people in Georgia where the hurricane may go. It was a cat 1 then as opposed to a Cat4 and the direction was not clear. In addition, we called to cancel within an hour of the deadline but because it was central time it where the call was coming from, we missed the deadline by an hour.
Obviously that $89 was more important to you than future business from all of us and your customer's safety. I hope it was worth it.

Hardly any shade and small, close together spaces, however some were paved. Fire pits were nice. SLOW internet and spotty cable. But staff is nice and the place is clean and quiet.
