Cloudland Canyon State Park - Rising Fawn, Georgia

I stayed in a yurt for thanksgiving weekend this year. This park is unbelievable. Miles and miles of trails with scenic overlooks. Deer that come right up to you. Flocks of turkeys and the chunkiest squirrels I’ve ever seen. Hot showers and immaculately clean restrooms. The center near the gate has cheap firewood and basic camping supplies. My only regret about staying here is not booking a longer vacation!

I don't even know where to begin when describing how beautiful this park is! It was very well maintained and plenty of Kodak moments! The waterfalls are a sight to see!! I will definitely be back to cover more trails

Spent a fantastic day here covering two hikes, west rim (lollipop) and waterfalls. The views from the canyons edge on West rim were amazing and the descent down the intricately placed staircases to the waterfalls was a very unique experience, with a worthwhile payoff of up close views of Hemlock and Cherokee Falls. We look forward to our return visit!

Great hike, BUT DO NOT BRING YOUR DOGS! There are a ton of metal stairs that are not good for their feet. Most of the walking here is on these metal stairs. We ran across several dogs who did not like the stairs on these metal pads of their feet. The views are great, the trails are well maintained. Bring snacks and water if you want to see several falls. Fun for the whole family, just be prepared for stairs.

What a beautiful park! We camped in the East Rim campground and had a great experience. So nice to be close to the East Rim trail and view, that was our daily stroll. Took a Bat Class at the Interpretive Center, the Ranger did a great job. We have already made our reservations for 2025. Be sure to visit this park, you won't be disappointed!

On October 24, I visited Cloudland Canyon. The leaves were just starting to change color, and the scenery was breathtaking—it felt like a small Grand Canyon. If I visit near the end of October, I think I’ll see the fall colors at their peak.

There were plenty of picnic tables, and we had reserved a pavilion to enjoy a comfortable time together. The pavilion rental was $40, and the entrance fee was $5 per car, which was very reasonable. One small inconvenience was that other people were using the pavilion we had reserved. Since there was no sign to show it was reserved, we had to tell them about our reservation, which felt a bit awkward. However, it was a weekday, so there weren’t many visitors, and most of the other pavilions were empty, so it wasn’t too much trouble.

I was excited to see the fall colors, but I was also very happy to find that the park offered several different hiking trails. Most of our group were seniors, and they could still enjoy a trail that was suitable for them, so we were able to walk together safely and have a pleasant time.

Above all, I want to thank the staff who take such good care of the park. Their efforts allowed us to fully enjoy the beautiful fall scenery in a clean, well-maintained space. It was a special experience.

지난 10월 24일, 클라우드랜드 캐년을 방문했습니다. 단풍이 막 물들기 시작한 시기였고, 자연의 아름다움이 가득해 마치 작은 그랜드 캐년 같은 느낌을 받았습니다. 10월 말 즈음에 방문한다면 단풍이 절정에 이를 것 같아 더욱 풍성한 가을 풍경을 감상할 수 있을 것 같습니다.

피크닉 테이블이 넉넉히 준비되어 있었고, 우리는 파빌리온을 예약해 편안하게 시간을 보낼 수 있었습니다. 파빌리온 사용료는 $40이었고, 입장료는 차량 한 대당 $5로 비교적 저렴했습니다. 다만 예약한 파빌리온에 다른 사람들이 사용하고 있어 조금 당황스러웠습니다. 사용자가 예약자임을 알리는 표시가 없어서 직접 예약 사실을 알려야 했지만, 평일이라 방문객이 많지 않았고 다른 파빌리온도 대부분 비어 있어 큰 불편함은 없었습니다.

특히 기대했던 단풍 외에도 다양한 트레일 코스가 잘 마련되어 있어 대만족이었습니다. 우리 일행은 대부분 시니어분들이셨는데, 그분들도 무리 없이 즐길 수 있는 완만한 트레일이 있어서 안전하고 즐겁게 산책할 수 있었습니다.

무엇보다도 공원을 아름답고 청결하게 관리해 주신 직원분들께 감사의 마음을 전하고 싶습니다. 덕분에 아름다운 가을 풍경을 더욱 쾌적하게 누릴 수 있었던 소중한 시간이었습니다.

One of the best state parks we’ve visited! We stayed in one of the log cabins. It had a real working wood fireplace!! ❤️ The trails are beautiful, the views are amazing and the accommodations were cozy! Highly recommend!

Trails are well marked and maintained! We visited for the day so I can't speak for the campground but the restrooms we used were clean & the camp store was well stocked. Employees were polite & helpful. It was a great day of hiking!
