Fantastic service! Super nice and accommodating. When checking in Liz mentioned to us that there was a bigger site available that was more secluded than the one we reserved and to check it out and let her know if we wanted to switch. The new site was great so we switched and she made it very simple! Super communicative over text and gave us recommendations on where to eat in town. Would definitely recommend to friends looking for some close-to-town camping, and I hope to come back soon!

My husband, friends and I, have been staying at Hearthstone for several years. It’s a smaller, cute rustic campground less than 2 miles from heart of Helen and near by Smith-Gall state park.
What we love is that you are not overwhelmed with too large of a campground, and it’s much quieter. Liz, the owner, puts her heart into her home and campground offering. Hearthstone is meant to be a stay of rest, being one in nature with the small hiking trails surrounding the grounds and letting your artistic creativity flow, as she even offers an art workshop for guests to enjoy. 🙂

We loved this place! It was amazing, my whole family loved it including the art area where we got to paint some rock and be artistic. Liz the owner was so sweet and amazing. Very responsive and was helpful with any of our needs. Would definitely recommend and would be coming back.

My husband and I stayed in our camper for 3 nights. It’s only been our second trip ever and we had an AMAZING time!! The proximity to downtown Helen made it super easy to run back to the camper and let the dogs out! The host is so sweet and such a hard worker! She let us tour the cabins and they are all so great! We will DEFINITELY be coming back and hopefully with friends or family! - Sincerely, some happy campers!

I imagine this is a wonderful place. Unfortunately, I have reached out to the number provided numerous times with no avail. We have an emergency situation on our hands and I strongly feel they need to provide some type of customer service. At this point, I would absolutely not book here again! As soon as someone reached out to me, I will gladly give an update.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Hearthstone. Liz was so friendly and communicative and met us immediately upon our arrival. We had 3 spots together for our camper trailers and had plenty of room with full hookups. We were requested to not put food scraps in the trash to not attract bears and this was easy to accommodate. The best was the creation station where my tween girls spent a ton of time painting and being artist.
The location is so close to town and we even got a map and directions on how to avoid traffic and where to park.
While we did not stay in the cabin I did get to see one and it was absolutely charming with a nice bathroom. If we come back to Helen we would no doubt stay again.

Tent campers beware! Campground was cozy. BUT...Upon arrival, you must text or call the host to check in, and we did so with no response, even with multiple attempts. We finally took it upon ourselves to locate our site and found that the advertised vehicle length alloted to each tent site was severely over estimated. The website says max vehicle length is 20 feet, which we are within, and once the host finally came to check us in, we were told we could not park at our site because we stuck out into the road. This is due to the fact that you actually park across the road from your tent site, and not actually at it. The roads are one way in and out and very tight to turn around unless you have a small car. We did not use the shower house, but did notice that there seemed to be no drain in the shower as the water just ran out the front of the structure and across the road. There were only porta potties, and the roads in and out are very steep. It would likely be impassible in rainy weather. Positives are that it is close to Helen and has cell service, but these were not enough to want to stay. We had a 3 night reservation and only stayed one night. We were lucky enough to find a last minute opening at Unicoi State Park, which has much better amenities for the same price.

I'll start with the good... the location is good as far as being able to access the town and be able to avoid most the traffic. The cabins are decorated really cute (although I did not stay in one), the rv spots do have a picnic table and fire pit.

The bad.. COMMUNICATION IS HORRIBLE.. NONE existent! There's no office and they say to call or text but NO ONE answers.. at all!
The park is NOT large rv friendly. The one road to get through the park is very narrow. I would be really scared to stay in any spot past the first 6.

No Amenities!! They have a mold filled, spider infested shower house with two showers that don't drain and the hot water ran out in 5 minutes. My kids were scared to death to use these and honestly so was i.

There are NO toilets! There are 2 unkept porta johns and one is a "compost" style you have throw sawdust on your poo..

I personally would not stay here again and would only recommend if you are staying in a cabin.
