Returned earlier from a group trip. The pros - Beautiful Grounds!! Just beautiful!!

Cons:
The bathrooms were horrible! Very dated, dirty, rusty and smelly. Toilets barely flushed. Had to flush them numerous times. The showers looked so bad I decided not to use them to shower and just wait until I returned home. I don’t even want to brush my teeth because of how the sinks looked. The bathrooms overshadow how beautiful the grounds look. One young person in our group commented she was afraid to go into the bathroom.

Con - the food was not the best but manageable. I just can’t get over how bad the showers/toilets looked. If they invested funds into upgrading
the bathroom facilities, I’d recommend.

Just made so many great memories this weekend at Camp Highroad with Girl Scouts!
Hannah inspired our scouts on the zip line giving so much encouragement and patience to our 4th graders. She was fabulous! Andrew was also great with our older scouts on the high ropes. They had an amazing time despite the rain and want to do it again next year. Thank you Hannah and Andrew!!!!!

I went there with my church, to begin with the lady who give us the tour agreed to let us come early in the morning the day we rented the day to install our sound equipment and set up everything, days before we called to confirm and they said no ,we have a rented starting 7pm , thanks God we could talk and set everything up 5pm ,some of the showers were out of service, the cleaning was awful including the kitchen (I spend almost 1 hour cleaning the flat grill to cook our meals) the facilities maintenance is almost none (since 1960s) that's including all time of furniture, chairs and beds, some of the doors can't be lock at all ,my bathroom and shower were way too mess up that's no talking about the pool shower and toilet, everything I just mentioned and much more for top dollars, very bad experience for me and my congregation, good thing that regardless all that God did fulfill he's purpose and we got blessed

Class trip chaperone. Great experience. Our guide was patient and firm with the children. Made sure they were safe and got them thinking logically. There was alot of teamwork and ther children worked well together.

They watched the guide build camp fire and then built one together under his guide. They did some archery, ziplined, got a hayride and took part in a couple games and team building exercises.

This is my second time going and I would certainly recommend.

We came for the afternoon and had a blast exploring the camp grounds! We fed the horses carrots, canoed on the pond, chased the ducks and looked along the shore for critters to catch. Our 4 year old had a blast especially meeting the goats, chickens and baby bunnies. Adam was so incredibly friendly and we enjoyed chatting with him.

We've participated in group camping here multiple times. There's a lot of activities available, the campsites are well maintained, and the camp counselors are very nice! Easy to get to, but far enough from suburbia that you can see the stars clearly! Lowered stars for the horseback stables they have here - the horses seem like they all have bad habits, and are hard to control, particularly if you are a novice or even intermediate rider.

I was a summer camp counselor and summer director way back in the day, so maybe I'm a bit biased, but I love Camp Highroad. In fact, I will always look back at the summer of '99 as the best time of my entire life. There is tons to do: nature hikes, crafts, swimming, all the usual summer camp type stuff. Over the years, they have made even more improvements like new adventure elements, etc. Kids will have an awesome week of camp. Of course, they also have other programs throughout the year.

But the best part of Camp is that you are away from the hustle and bustle of normal life and can feel God's presence in its beautiful nature setting. Camp Highroad is an anointed place.

Our Boy Scout Troop had a great time visiting Camp Highroad March 28-30, 2014. The campsite was beautiful and well-laid out. The Ropes Course was awesome, despite a soaking rain. Our boys loved the 'big swing' and high-level ropes obstacles courses; instructors Andrew and Adam were so positive and encouraging, each boy tried his best and had a great time. And our camp supervisor(?) that weekend, Josh, was truly amazing! He showed us the area, brought us firewood, and pulled out ill-fated van out of the mud, not once, but twice. And rebuilt part of the van after it had a mishap. Josh was incredibly nice and supportive; our entire Troop thanks him and the team at Camp Highroads. We'll be back for certain, hopefully in warmer, drier weather. Thanks very much!
