Southview Holiday Village - Middlesbrough

Liked: We stayed at Southview Farm for our second time away in our rooftop tent.
The photographs on here are what made us choose this site. Unfortunately for us we chose a weekend when it was really foggy! However we found that this site was brilliant for so much more than the view.
The toilet/shower blocks are very clean and well maintained and didn’t feel like “camping” toilets to me!

The location is perfect, in a field in the middle of what seems like no where. Very peaceful and a perfect little get away. The pitches are spaced well apart and not over looked or crowded.

We came with our 2 frenchies and they were really relaxed and enjoyed hanging out with us whilst we sat outside the tent on the evening.

Finally the staff at the site were lovely, from when we rang the day before with a question to being on the site.
A special mention to Dave who is so friendly and you can tell that he really cares about everyone who comes to stay on the site. Thank you for your loan of the wind breaker when you saw us sat out without one! We will definitely add one to our camping kit next time.

Would recommend this site to anyone looking at staying here and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Liked: The views! Literally in a field in the middle of no where. Not overcrowded, no screaming kids, so peaceful!
The facilities were basic but clean, and liked that each cubicle was a toilet and a shower. The showers were great too!
Liked that electric and showers were included without being ripped off. Site very friendly and owners super helpful with local tips too!

Disliked: Nothing. Great site!

Liked: Lovely little site with wonderful views and clean facilities. Great base for exploring the area. We went to Northallerton, Whitby Saltburn, Redcar, Stokesley and Roseberry topping. We recommend the Mill pub in Stokesley for a nice meal out. We arrived a day late due to car troubles and when I called to advise I was told I could add the day I lost on the end if I wanted to and I could arrive any time the next day. We couldn’t stay later than Saturday unfortunately but I thought it was great service and the offer was appreciated.

Went here for my birthday, pods were lovely, hot tub great. It rained for the first 2 days but luckily we got some sun on the last day. Unfortunately we had to leave a day early due to noise from the owners son. The owner Brian was lovely and very helpful, but his son spent an awful lot of time going from pod to pod talking to all the holiday goers. Sometimes they would be in the hot tub and he would talk to them for half an hour then they would get out of the hot tub and go in. The couple in the pod next to us seemed to love this and he was there talking to them outside a few times- for up to 2 hours! We thought we’d have an ice relaxing break away from the kids and early morning school runs etc. so we’d stay up late and thought we’d get to sleep in. But this wasn’t possible due to the son talking and singing loudly on both mornings we were there. On 3 occasions when we slept we were woken up by him and in the end we decided to leave a day early as we couldn’t stand to be woken up by him again. So if you are going for a quiet relaxing break I’d be wary because he speaks very loudly and seems to like going around speaking to everyone. This is fine and he is a nice enough person. I just feel that he shouldn’t be going around bothering everyone, it really stressed us out and we had to leave. 🙁 I would still recommend this place however just be warned that it’s not suitable for a romantic getaway.

Liked: The campsite was great for us and had everything we needed for our weekend away. Shower and toilet block were always clean and tidy and on top of that warm - which was a very welcomed and pleasant bonus!!!
The sites staff were friendly throughout our stay and on site to help should it be needed while we were there.
Thanks for having us, this site would definitely be recommended by us to anyone needing somewhere in the area!

Disliked: No real dislike for this site we had everything we needed and felt comfortable while there!

Liked: Amazing view from the more than generous hardstanding pitch we stayed on.
Site was secure as there was a key coded security gate for entry and exit.
Site spotless and facilities top rate.
Thanks to John we found a lovely walk directly from the site.Chose the site as close to Roseberry topping which we visited on the way.
Peaceful 2 night stay and would recommend .

Liked: Dave the campsite manager was fabulous. Real old school , no nonsense character who checked on everyone to make sure all was ok and ensuring the site was quiet during quiet time. The views are beautiful in this area. Be sure to take a trip to Lord Stones whilst there.

Disliked: Some people didn't pick up their dog poo on the dog walking field and just left the bags on the ground. That's not fair on camp staff.

Liked: Lovely quiet, quaint park. Clean facilities and lovely friendly chap saw us in and even let us pick our own pitch taking into consideration we had with us our 3yr old son 6 month old baby.

Disliked: Not much to dislike really! If i had to write something it was tbe road into the site, had little to passing points but thats not the sites issues, so no problems here.
