We stayed in the Gamekeeper Timber Lodge, two adults and three boys. Our stay was wonderful from start to finish. The lodge and the site has absolutely gorgeous views, and the interior is so nicely decorated and cosy. I'd forgotten an onion for a stew I was planning to make when we arrived, and the person at the desk was kind enough to bring us some so we didn't need to venture out again (thank you!). The hot tub was great, with a generous amount of wood to keep it warm throughout our visit, and so nice to be able to make a fire on the deck. Our preteen boys loved being able to walk down to Love Brownie on their own. We loved the suggestions on different walks. We did the Simon’s Seat, Valley of Desolation, Bolton Abbey walk and had a wonderful day. It was so nice to come back up to Howgill Lodge through the valley knowing there was a hot tub and pizza waiting. Thanks for the great stay!

It’s hard to overstate how good Howgill lodge was (camping). The pitches are individually designated, on a tiered system meaning a flat, week defined, sizeable pitch. Service was great, with a well stocked shop for essentials. Facilities were magnificent, with showers that genuinely put a lot of hotels to shame in terms of pressure, temperature, and cleanliness standards. Great location with lovely walks nearby, and beautiful views. As dog owners, the enclosed dog walking field was brilliant! Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

When we are arrived at Howgill Lodge we were very pleasantly surprised. The views from the site are truly amazing. All pitches are facing the beautiful views. All the amenities are very clean, private and dotted around the site. Very friendly and helpful staff. We were able to hire a firepit and buy necessary logs. This added to our wonderful relaxing weekend. We had such a lovely time.

Great size pitch, totally level and tucked into the trees with a view across the countryside. Really clean shower/toilet block and the shop is very well stocked for any essentials you've forgotten. We have a great stay and will definitely be back.

The views from the elevated pitches are beautiful. The site is very clean with good facilities. Staff were all very polite and helpful. Great for walks to Bolton Abbey and Appletreewick. The fact there is a barista coffee facility on site was a bonus.

Liked: Friendly and welcoming staff who let us choose our pitch from a selection as the site was quiet; excellent clean facilities throughout this well-tended site. Very peaceful with lovely views of the surrounding countryside and fabulous walking from the site. Good pub about 1 mile walk and tasty bakes sold next door.

Liked: Views were great, hard standing pitches were level. Toilets and washing up facilities were really clean and the hot water came on quickly. Friendly staff. Could see pheasants, kites and rabbits. Lovely walks from site (but be aware some local walks from here do not allow dogs).

We were a large group, booking 2 lodges and 4 pitches.||Lodges were individually furnished and had lovely views. Beware the decking is very slippery when wet.||Facilities were plentiful and clean.||Pitches were level and being on terraces - again- had lovely views. Although I had noted complaints about a bad odour on the site prior to booking - this had clearly not been addressed, as pitches 24 and 26 had a very rank and overpowering stench throughout our stay - which detracted from our enjoyment of a family gathering.||3 out of the 4 staff we dealt with were extremely cheerful and helpful.||We are seasoned campers so did not need the shop - but lovely to see that it had a varied stock of goods.
