We got Outpost Cabin #2 so we could bring our dog. After reading a lot of reviews I determined I needed to bring twinkle lights, an air mattress, and a surge strip for my computer so we could watch scary movies at night. It was very worth it and we had a great time. We are gonna do it again when there's less ticks (we went mid May) and when we can use the wood stove. We'd highly recommend for anyone who enjoys the outdoors. Bathrooms were very close but on the other side of the trees so we didn't hear anyone else. Only downside is we couldn't see the lake.

The cabins are so peaceful and serene. It's quiet except for occasional boats by the lake. It was hard to find the nearby trail that encircled the cabin grounds! The drive out there sure makes it feel like you're out in the middle of nowhere so watch out for the deer! The bathrooms and showers are very clean and large and the cabins are spaced far apart for privacy. Above all, for the price of $50 a night it's an amazing getaway spot in a whole lake cabin!

Awesome place love the view, fireplace, area and everything. Has a nice micro fridge and microwave but can bring Blackstone or something of your choice. Cooking inside not allowed so plan for that. No utensils or running water inside so bring paper. Spent two nights and other than the mattress was teriable (bring an air bed) we enjoyed our stay. If spending two or more nights bring your own wood. Park provides enough for about a day and a half. We stayed when it was 8 degrees out first night and 30 but breezy our second. Was a little drafty but helps with the cabin feel. Bathroom and showers just up the trail and super nice with fresh water so bring you a jug. Would like to come back in spring or early summer and stay again.

Fun place to stay. Small outpost cabin campground with a handful of cabins. They sit back a little off the separate parking lots. There are wagons for your items. Not all of the lots have a wagon. Check around before hauling all your items to your cabin. Lake trail nearby is great. Definitely has steep areas. Grab your boots for this one. There are 4 showers on the other side of the bathrooms. Fresh water is available by the shower house. Bring your lanterns because there is only one light. There are also no outlets in the loft area. It is cozy and the units have a wood burning stove as well as an A/C unit. There are lots of armadillos and they actually keep the bugs away from camp! There is a lockbox on the cabin with your key. You have to call ahead or before 7pm to get the code. Numbers can be pushed in any order to open. Also BRING AIR MATTRESS or camp pad for the beds. They are thin and extremely uncomfortable. Thank me later. Overall was fun and would stay again.

We booked cabin 3, longest walk to the bathrooms, but we're here to hike anyways. Great view, right on the lake. bathrooms and showers very clean, seemed to be done multiple times a day. Nice big fire pit, cabin is well maintained, trail is great.

They were beautiful cabins tucked very far away from the main roads. I really liked the camping experience while having air conditioning..we stayed a full week in outpost cabin 1. Sadly having 6 people means a lot of stuff no matter how much we try to pack light. We were able to store it in an organized manner in the cabin. I also cooked most of our meals out on the grill or my portable gas grill that I brought. We had brought a bunch of yard games to play but weren't really able to use alot of them as it was too steep. We did go to the nearby Walmart and bought another board game to play inside after dark. There was an ice station and laundry mat not too far from the park entrance. We swam at the smaller beach that is closer to the camp a couple of time, floated on the lake, fished and truly enjoyed our time there. The futon style bed was a great size, but definitely hard on my back. We had brought thick sleeping bags to sleep on top of, but it simply wasn't enough. So maybe bring a mattress padding or something.
The wildlife was great there were baby bunnies that weren't scared of humans, we had does and their babies that ran back and forth and a very ornery racoon that haunted our campsite at night trying to find food of any kind. I'm glad we brought our portable rocking chairs to sit on the porch by the door. It faced the woods and was some of the best time spent.
It was a bit steep to walk up and down to the bathroom and parking area. I'm literally amazed none of the kids slid on the rocks! We managed though and they had a cart to bring belongings back and forth to the cabins. The restrooms and bathing rooms were pretty well kept. There was also a ton of space and woods between the cabins. We barely heard and saw the other Campers. All in all a great camping experience for the family with an affordable price. I highly recommend it.

Very nice and enough space for 4 people and a dog ( if your cabin is dog friendly. It is a long drive into town but there is a lot of good food nearby. And your close to the lake
