This was the star of our cross country trip. You cannot beat the location of this campsite. It’s walking distance to the beach where dogs are allowed and so are bonfires. We had no problems with bugs or poison ivy. It felt safe and close to incredibly charming towns and wineries. We will be back!

Loved this place. Right on the Sleeping Bear Dunes Trail for easy access with our bikes. Quiet campground. Decent sized sites. Pit toilets that were kind of stinky, but decently clean. We will be back.

A great campground for what it is. The sites are close together but there are enough trees that it's not terrible. That said, you will likely see and hear your neighbors. The vault toilets are not my first choice so we brought other arrangements. The short walk to the beach is the real draw, it is beautiful. There is poison ivy everywhere so be careful when walking. Even visiting when the campground was full is a great experience and you're only a couple miles from the dune climb. Looking forward to coming back.

Our first time here in this campground. 5 minutes to the beach from our site. The highlight is the beach where you can have bonfires. The sites are small and very close together. Lots of poison ivy. You need to be careful while you're riding your bike. There is no electricity. There are spots you can rent to connect your generator. The reason I am not giving a higher rating is because of the vault bathrooms. They are very smelly. Flies everywhere in the bathroom. The bathrooms must be cleaned more often.

We camped in a tent just a few minutes walk from the beach. We were so close we could hear the waves at night in our tent. The sunset over the lake was beautiful and the beach wasn't too crowded. In the morning we were one of only a few families exploring the beach. Our kids enjoyed searching for Petoskey stones in the pebbles and we had a wonderful lazy morning there. We didn't get to go explore the night sky because our kids fell asleep early and our campsite was heavily wooded but the pockets of sky that we could see were spectacular! We only stayed one night this time but we will definitely be back for a longer stay.

Rustic camping, plenty of potable water.

Raccoons really know how to party. Make sure all food and trash is in your car before they come out.

Very dog friendly, lots of quiet dogs on leashes when we visited. None of the dogs seemed to be barking at the raccoons, they must have a truce.

The campground is on a lovely paved bike trail on one end. Great for kids to get their energy out. All gravel inside the campground, but well packed and easy to ride on.

Fire pits have hinged grill tops for ease of cooking. They flip back out of the way, just don't trip over it. Every site has a picnic table and fire ring. All the sites appear to have a level, framed, tent platform.

There's poison ivy everywhere. Everywhere. Evrywhere. Bring dishsoap to wash the oil off if you're unfortunate enough to touch it.

The location can't be beat.

One of my favorite places to tent camp! Score yourself a site near the lake, the sound of the waves crashing made the best night of sleep Ive ever had! My kids loved being able to take a trail to the lake from our site.
