The cabins/bungalows are all unique with their own charm. My family is loving this place. We all settle in and unwind and get inspired. Been there twice this year and already planning on a potential third time this year. There is fishing, hiking, and disc golfing as well as some playgrounds and beaches. I like the layout, not too complicated, but still winding enough to feel secluded enough.

We loved it here so much! The kids had so much fun and everything was just beautiful. The staff was very helpful and we loved the little camp store with treats for everyone.

When I pulled up to the office gate, there were 2 people inside. We sat there for 5 minutes before she got up. We toured the park. The lake looked fishy. The campsites to the right were un level. Some had washes. That whole area was in need of cleaning and repair. Across the lake were better. But the wooden decks were mostly rotten

This place looks better on line than reality.
Main entrance is very attractive and checkin is efficient and friendly
It’s quite a long drive to the campsites, along a driveway beneath the dam which is under construction
The actual sites are not well signposted and are tucked in a dense canopy of trees (which makes a Starlink useless). We drove back to the office and a site by the lake was given which was the good news.
The not so good news was the state of the pad, had to be very careful not to break Ann ankle.
All in all, would not return. Paul B Johnson is only 30 minutes away and hopefully will be much improved after current construction

We came in a Monday with an RV. The lady checking us in was friendly and very helpful and seemed to know the sites well. She let us change our stay to a different site due to windy conditions. She helped pick out a perfect spot. We enjoyed our stay. It was very quiet and peaceful. Unfortunately, it was still kind of gray and dead looking from winter. We did a lot of walking around and was surprised at how big the campground and cabin areas were. The general store was closed Monday through Wednesday. So, make sure you bring what you need, or you'll be driving to Lumberton about 8 miles away. There wasn't anybody around to rent kayaks. There are a couple of playground areas. Disc Golf. Not much else. I did see personal boats out on the lake fishing. The bath houses were clean enough for as old as they are. I think they could use some renovation in that area. I wouldn't use the showers, though. Luckily, I had one in my RV. Also, I think there should be a campfire ring on each site. We had to go to empty campsites, gather large rocks, and bring them to our site in order to build a semi safe campfire ring. All in all, it was fine.

This is a privately owned campground that you cannot visit unless you are camping. There is a disc golf course, but it is currently closed. This place should not be allowed to have a brown state park color-coded sign in Purvis because it is misleading. it is not a state park.

Charged us for an "event weekend" Additional per night and a 3 night minimum. There were 3 vendors and no events. Would not credit us back or give credit for next time. The camp store was always so nice now its empty and does not open the same time every day.
Its a shame it has always been such a great place. Now I know why there were so many empty lots. We will not be back.
